Day 7

Day 7:

It finally decided to snow today, and it DUMPED. Snow is one of my favorite things, especially when the weather was like it was tonight. It was honestly magical, like it belonged in a dream. I love how the Lord blesses us through simple things like snow. He totally reveals His beautiful and creative mind to us. Jame and I took a walk in it, and I was apprehensive to take a lot of pictures because i didn't want my camera to get too wet from all the snow that was pouring down, so here are two of the good ones that turned out. My sister is gorgeous.

Day 6

Day 6:

My grandma got me a hope chest for Christmas. A big, beautiful cedar chest to fill with hope for the future. She also got me a cookbook and recipe cards among other things to start my collection. So I've slowly been putting stuff in it that I want to save for when I'm married/have kids. Day 6's picture is of a small shelf that opens up inside of the chest where I put some old pictures that mean a lot to me and some important rings. My rings (from left to right) are: one from my grandma, my old baby ring, my class rings, and the one on the far right up top is my mom's old ring.

This was my reaction when my grandma gave me the chest on Christmas eve. :)

This is also from my room. They're a lot of my necklaces on a bulletin board, if you can't tell. I can't help but notice the necklace on the far left, how its tangled at the bottom. I noticed after I put it on my computer. But here's what I think. I don't want to be one of the photographers who has to fix things to make the picture look better. I like to take pictures for what they are. :)

Days 4 and 5

Day 5:

The Acorn Theater, Three Oaks, Michigan. I went for the Tuesday night open mic night last night, and it was my first time ever at the Acorn. I absolutely LOVED it. That place honestly needs to be in a movie or something. It was so old-school and vintage. I told Brooke that I wanted to live in it. Brooke and I asked if we could go on the upper layers of it (think of upper layer seating of an opera house, but it wrapped around the stage). Hanging from the ceiling were these awesome stars. I couldn't post just one picture. :)

These were also from the Acorn, in the bathroom. :) I loved the book coffee table.

January 4, 2011 (4/365)

My apologies for all of the still-life's. Since Kelsey left to go back to minnesota, my dad works, my brother lives in Chicago, Jami sleeps all day long (because she works nights), Amanda's back at school, Jade and Haley are married, and my boyfriend lives in Ann Arbor, I don't have many people to take pictures of.

This is my night stand in the morning. I love the morning sunshine. And it's ironic because of the lotion's name. I got it for x-mas from my aunt, probably because my grandma complains about how rough my hands are all the time. She always says, "Jeff won't want to touch those hands- here, put some lotion on." haha. She's hilarious.

Day 3

This is just another picture from yesterday at my friend's house. They've got some cute stuff in there and I couldn't stop snapping. :)

365 Project: Days 1 + 2

I've decided to do a 365 project. This means that I will take a picture every day for a year and post them. I can't guarantee them every day, but I'm planning on making sure I post one FOR every day, although the actual postings may be every once in a while.

I don't think I really have a goal or a purpose for doing this. I just want to do it for fun. It'd be cool to see how much (or if) my pictures change over a year. It's also going to be fun to look back and see what I did on the exact day that i took the picture. I'm not really a journaler, only my prayers. So i normally don't really keep track of what i do every day.

So here we are at days 1 and 2.

Day 1 is of my precious dog, Sawyer. I never knew that an animal could mean so much to someone. I sound like one of the crazy dog-people, but I honestly always have been an animal lover. She is the most emotional dog I've ever seen in my life. Her eyes are like a direct link to how she's feeling. We always talk about how "sensitive" she is. We've got a plethora of names for her including: snowflake, sunray, presh, snickers, pumpkin, scooby, etc. When she gets scared from storms she'll follow you around like a shadow, and she snores when she sleeps. She tries to be really tough, but is somewhat of a wimp. She is such a unique piece of our family and life honestly wouldn't be the same without her.

Day 2 is a picture from the cottage of a beloved friend, Gretchen. She's got a house in Bethany that they just built, and her closet doors in her bedroom are made out of the windows from her family's old cottage that they tore down to rebuild the new one. I've been friends with her since the day after I was born, she actually came to the hospital a day after I was born. We've always had a unique friendship and connection, and we've been close friends for forever. I got to spend some quality time with her today along with Kori (another long-time friend). We just sat in her room and caught up. Gretch goes to school in Texas, so I normally only see her in the summertime. It's always refreshing to see her during the holidays. :) The first picture is my 365 project, the second is of Gretch, and the third is of the three of us.

Can't beat a Michigan sunset

Tonight I ran down to the beach because I noticed how beautiful the sky was. Sure enough, the sunset was breathtaking. The freezing cold was semi-breathtaking as well, but not in the good way. It's times like these that I honestly can't help but belt out the song "How Great is our God". He's the greatest artist, creator, and our "divine cardiologist". He works on hearts. I love how the Lord reveals himself to people through general revelation- through nature in itself.

Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands!"

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."

Thankful

Went home Monday night and was home for a solid 6 days. Nothing beats going home. I didn't want to come back to school. At all. These text 3 weeks are going to be brutal, but once they're done, i will have successfully (hopefully) accomplished 26 credits. Can't stinkin wait. However, it's going to take a LOT of work.

Had thanksgiving over at Grandma's just with her, Jami, Matt, Sawyer, Dad, and Nugget. So many things to be thankful for. It would be absurd to even try to list them. God is so good. And I deserve nothing. Every good and perfect gift is from above, and i have so many good and perfect gifts.
